

About the School
The School of Languages, Cultures and Religions (SLCR) is an integrated unit with an internationally renowned research profile and a reputation for high-quality teaching, both in its unique combination of subjects and an interdisciplinary context. The School offers BA programmes in French, Spanish, Religion and Global Cinema and Culture. Integrated Honours degree programmes are available with subjects in the Arts, Management, and Human Sciences, including Education, with a BA in Professional Education (Primary) with specialism in Modern Languages, and BA in French with Spanish, or Spanish with French, and Professional Education (Secondary). A double degree, BA in International Management Studies and Intercultural Studies, is organised with the universities of Strasbourg and Passau. In the BA in International Management Studies with European Languages and Society, students have the option of spending semesters five and six at the Ecole du Management in Strasbourg. Postgraduate taught courses include MLitts in Film Studies and in Hermeneutics, and an MRes (Masters in Research). PhD research is offered in a variety of fields in which the School is a centre of excellence, including Critical Religion, Cultural Theory, Francophone and Hispanophone Visual Cultures especially Cinema Studies, Latin American Studies, Post-Colonialism, and Queer Studies.
